Building upon the prior science class, JWOC students collaborated in groups to construct LEGO monkeys and program them to drum! Students put their STEM skills to use by arranging the gears and crams to move the monkeys arms in opposite directions; then they used their creativity to find objects around the room with which the monkey could drum a good beat on. The edges of the plastic LEGO kits were the most effective in creating good tunes. Next week, students will put both their STEM and creativity skills to test by designing, engineering and programming their very own LEGO robots. Stay tuned for the exciting news to come!
