Bulletin# MODERATE TO HEAVY SHOWERS TO AFFECT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO Parts of Trinidad and Tobago are currently experiencing cloudy conditions with brief moderate showers, and at times heavy and thundery. This is as a result of the presence of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Numerical Weather Prediction Models (NWP) forecast the ITCZ to remain over Trinidad and Tobago for at least the next 48 to 72 hours. Rainfall activity is forecast to increase as the afternoon progresses particularly over Tobago. Rainfall accumulations are forecast to range between 20 to 30 millimetres or even greater in some locations. The variability in weather conditions are expected to continue overnight into the next day with a gradual improvement towards late evening Monday 16th September 2013. It should be noted that gusty winds and the possibility of localized street and flash flooding may occur in the vicinity of heavy showers and thundershowers. Citizens are therefore advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities and to pay attention to daily public weather forecasts issued at 6 am, 10 am, 3 pm and 5:30 pm. WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING. The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service continues to closely monitor the weather situation and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants. Arlene Aaron Meteorologist
