Bullying Story Part 3 (See posts below for the rest): "From that day on, my strength was gone. It wasn’t rare to find me eating lunch in the bathroom, a man-made lake of tears at my feet. Did the supposed to be supportive teachers help? HA! Good one! Oh wait, you’re serious? Of course… not. They told me to stop crying and get over it. All I got were those dumb sayings: “Just ignore them, they’ll move on.” Yeah, when? Ignoring them did squat except cause more bullying, because they knew I wouldn’t fight back. I also got the legendary, “I’m rubber and you are glue, whatever bumps off of me sticks to you.” Thinking in the metaphoric or physical sense, it’s stupid either way. I’m pretty sure pencils don’t bounce off so easily. I’m positive none of those dodge balls magically turned back around and chased James down the path. I would pay to see that. They also never felt any guilt from the wretched names they called me. If they did, they didn’t show it. The last saying I got was the saying known for its stupidity. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” I would prefer a rock. With a rock, the pain goes away. The emotional pain of verbal bullying, well that’s a scar on my heart that I’m not sure will ever get better. I would like to tell you that it got better after that, but that’s a big fat lie. Everyone despised me, or so it felt. Their stares as I ate lunch made me retreat to the bathroom for the safety. Rumors were spread, taunts were made, and by this time, there were barely any pegs to support myself on. It broke my heart, walking down hallways and having people stop talking to look at me, not even being discrete about the fact that they were talking about me. Each day, I had to bring a massive roll of duct tape to tape the fragments of my heart together. I suppose I got pretty desperate in around fourth, fifth grade. That was the year I was most ashamed of myself. It was the year that I turned into a bully."
