Bundoran v St Eunans: Report U14s Semi Final Bundoran: 7-9 St Eunans: 7-8 In a very entertaining and exciting county semi-final in Fr Tierney Park, Bundoran edged out St Eunans after a storming semi-final that seen them recover a twelve point half-time deficit to lead by a goal at the end of normal time. A crucial Conor McLoone point in stoppage time left four between them as Eunans got the goal they craved in the sixth minute of injury time, but when Jakub Machinuk plucked the last kick-out from the air and send Bundoran on the attack again, referee john McGlanaghy blew the long whistle to send a jubilant Bundoran team into the county final where they meet southern champions Ardara. It was an outcome that seemed remote for much of the first half. Bundoran matched the Northern champions goal for goal through much of the first quarter but still trailed by 3-1 to 4-2 after fifteen minutes. With Eunans double tagging Cian McEniff, who had bagged all of the Seasiders goals, for the remainder of the half their greater size and strength around the field began to tell and they led 6-6 to 3-3 at the break. Bundoran got first blood with an early point but Eunans responded immediately. The first of a Paul Murphy brace of goals did not set the alarm bells ringing but when he hit the second in the 40th minute, Bundoran sensed the game was still there to play for. With Bundoran’s Mcloone, Machunik, Murphy and Steward were running directly at the Eunans defence, with foulds gernerally the best means to halt them and converted frees from Oran Gallagher and McEniff closed the gap to four points 5-6 to 6-7 before a fortunate McEniff goal cut the deficit to the minimum. A long range point from Gallagher levelled the game but Eunans hit back to restore their lead. Gallagher pointed again to level matters as the game entered the dying minutes. On the stroke of full-time, Stewart, McHenry and Murphy ran the length of the field interchanging passes before laying a goal on a plate for McEniff. As the first few minutes of injury time ticked away Eunans narrowly missed two point opportunities and when McLoone collected a short free 40m out on the stand side and ran through to slot over the insurance point it all looked over, leaving just enough time Eunan’s final goal. While all-round, St Eunans were the more talented team, but from goalie Conor Jack McManus to corner forward Jack Delaney Bundoran were the hungrier outfit and just about deserved their victory. Bundoran: Conor Jack McManus, Oisin McGloin, James Stewart, Michael McGloin, Matthew Duffy, Brian McHenry, Conor McLoone (0-1), Paul Murphy (2-0), Jakub Machunik, Adam Gallagher (0-1), Karl Barrett, Cody Granaghan, Oran Gallagher (0-4), Cian McEniff (5-3), Jack Delaney. Subs: Oisin McMahon, Miheal McCaughey, Oisin McMahon, Chris Conway. Brilliant Bundoran Qualify For Final
