Bunge Updates... Interesting Upcoming Bills... One Bad Bill.... We will have a set of interesting bills to debate when Bunge Resumes. I hope mine on Access to Information will be published in time. The Bills include:_ 1. The Public Service (Values and Principles) Bill, 2014 (constitutional) 2. The Persons Deprived of Liberty Bill, 2014 (Constitutional). 3. The Environmental Management and Co-ordination (Amendment) Bill 4. The Security and Investment Analysts Bill, 2014 5. The Traditional Health Practitioners Bill, 2014 6. The Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2014 7. The Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Bill, 2014 (that media is complaining about for gagging them.) 8. The County Governments (Amendment) Bill, 2014 - I dont support this Bill. In the Legal Committee we did not support it, we had many questions - Its a bill introduced by a CORD Member providing that a single petitioner may ask either House of Parliament to pursue removal of a Governor... unbelievable... We already have a procedure for removal of Governors that is problematic why give the National Assembly a role in removal of a Governor following a single persons petition - and yet this same CORD is running around on a Referendum to defend devolution! The Governors are caught up in pesa mashinani and a needless Referendum they have not seen the danger approaching... I have seen even the CJ is engaging Okoa team, a terrible move on his part.... if the Judiciary chapter is opened, it will not be for the better... We dont need to interfere with Katiba, lets implement it...
