Bunting? Small ball? I recently read an article that suggested no youth player should bunt. I was seriously appalled. My guys dont bunt often, but they know how to. My son is a big kid and hes not fast, not your usual bunt threat, but he CAN. At what age do you think you should allow bunting, obviously if its allowed by rule? I know that coach pitch doesnt allow it. The same article also disparaged another team for taking walks. He suggests that if they arent swinging and only bunting or walking and then stealing its wrong. I dont think you should bunt each at bat, but I will take a walk when we can. And stealing? You can bet my kids will steal (sometimes even if I tell them not to). So, thoughts on small ball, based on age. ~nikki
