From the Japanese word ‘kuro’ which means ‘black’, the Kuro Burger is composed of black buns, black cheese, and black sauce. Its 115 gram beef patty isn’t black but it was smothered with black pepper to keep in line with the theme. Burger King uses the tagline ‘Kuro 2 Good To Be True’ to promote their latest product. Strange as it seems, this delicacy is 100% edible and this sandwich will be served starting September 19 in Burger King branches in Japan. In a post from CNET, it said that Kuro Burger comes in two forms; the Kuro Pearl available for 480 yen ($4.49) and the Kuro Diamond that will cost you 690 yen ($6.45). “The Kuro Pearl features solely the black buns, black cheese and a beef patty (which isn’t black), while the Kuro Diamond adds on familiar toppings, like lettuce, tomato and onions (which also aren’t black). Both variants have black ketchup, too,” the post reads, according to company press release. As the fast-food chain started to spill their latest product in social media networks, it has received different receptions from its fans and dubbed it with different names such as ‘goth-burger’. A burger dubbed as “Dark Vador” from the European Quick restaurant chain comes only with black buns. London’s Opso also serves fish burger and squid ink bun. While Burger King initially launched Kuro Burger in September 2012. The Kuro burger can only be available in a limited period and reports said the offer is scheduled to end early November.
