Burton Park Wanderers have completed the Loan Signing of Striker Alfie Taylor from AFC Rushden & Diamonds until the end of this season. Burton Park Manager Joe Smyth commented: I’d like to thank AFC Diamonds, in particular their Chairman Ralph Burditt who’s availability and quick actions made this Loan possible. Alfie is a player I have known and admired for a long while, in fact I briefly signed him whilst Manager at Thrapston Town a couple of seasons ago. He is a nice lad, an excellent player and a proven UCL Prem goal scorer who only recently scored his 50th goal for AFC R&D, so for us to secure him for our final ten games is a great coup for the club. There is a precedent as we’ve previously had players on Loan from AFC Diamonds, U21 player Louie Smith joined me when I took over last February, so once I heard there might be an opportunity to secure a player of Alfie’s quality I acted as quickly as possible. People will assume lots of things and I can’t legislate for that. All I will say is that Burton Park have now secured the services of, in my opinion one of the best strikers in the UCL and we will enjoy him while he’s here.” Alongside Alfie Taylor Burton Park have also signed Ex Stamford and Diamonds Player Richard Bailey. Burton Manager Joe Smyth commented: “We have 10 games this month and Richard will be an invaluable addition. Hes an experienced lad having played at a much higher level and Im delighted hes coming in to help us out.”
