Business Owner - Company Car or Not? I have been running my own business (Limited company) since the mid-1980’s. Back then there was no issue running my car through the company as a benefit in kind as it made financial sense to do so. That changed when company cars got hit for a lot of tax in the late 1990’s and ever since, I have run my own car. I would rather have a company car but as I do like to drive fairly big cars these days, is there any sense in doing this?
