But Jesus said to them only in his hometown and his own house is a prophet without honour.And he did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief (Matt 13:57-58). Attributing to the above scripture,it was a different eventuality as I had the most captivating session with the great people of my roots,Amuzi Obowo at Central Primary School,Amuzi. The session had in attendance all executive officers of the ward as well as the ward chairman,Chief Timothy Kanwa. Also present were political figures from the ward who are aspirants of various elective positions in the forthcoming elections. They include Ambassador Philip Opara,Rtd Col.Ikemenanwa along with Dr Anosike who lately defected to APGA from APC and an aspirant vying for the same position with my humble self. After the people voiced their views,all the aspirants took turns to air their intentions/agendas but a different atmosphere aroused when I stood to give my own words. They barely gave me the chance to speak at length as they chanted songs of support/endorsement towards me. The youths ignited the venue more as they heaped series of adulations upon me in our mother tongue. I remain highly grateful to all the good people of Amuzi,Obowo for the level of recognition,honour and confidence reposed in me. I affirm once again never to take this for granted and to completely represent and defend the interest of the people if being elected come 2015. Obowo must be transformed and Imo deserves the best. God bless Nigeria...
