But see, I dont like that term. Lady I never wanted to be a lady. I wanted to be a queen. I wanted to be strong and responsible, dependable and just. I wanted to know what the right choice was and how to fond it every time. I wanted wanted be tranquil, independent, and fierce- but not that always loud fierce, that impeccable calm waters while a storm rages beneath firece. And sometimes, I didnt want to be polite, I didnt want to give up my right to voice every thought that ever popped into my head (even, and especially when it was wiser to keep silent) The idea of a young lady is some on who is polite, obedient, and poise. Who keeps her mouth shut and does what others want. A lady was created by a patrartical society who was afraid of a powerful woman. I think it is better to teach a child be it girl or boy to be kind to others, passionate about their convictions, brave enough to stand against injustice and wise enough to know when it is better to sit down. Polite in their everyday experience, because it costs nothing and enriches the soul. To study moral, to recognize where the line between right and wrong is and understand that what is right is hardly ever going to be easy. Teach them to be responsible for their own actions, and that taking responsibility also means dealing with unpleasant consequences. Dont teach a child to be a member of some on elses court when they were born to rule their own life.
