But the LORD said to Samuel, Do not look at how handsome Eliab is or how tall he is, because I have not chosen him. God does not see the same way people see. People look the outside of a person, but the LORD looks at the heart - 1Samuel 16:7 First impressions. Yuck. You look. They look. You shake hands; fake a smile. Yep, you have got this one figured out, wrapped up in a box, and slapped into category A, B, or C. he is either hip, or wanna-be. However you do it, you still label people. Everybody does, and we all do it based on the superficial. Looks determine label-straight teeth, good haircut, right jeans-all the right stuff. Guess what? God does not give a rip about jeans or haircuts. Peoples looks are not even an issue for him. His radar locks on to the heart and makes an inspection there. He wants to know who you are way down deep inside. How do you really feel? Are you really mean as a yard dog, or do you cut other people down because your heart is been broken and really hurting? God knows the truth about people-good and bad. He always looks past all your stuff and sees your heart.
