“But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.” 1 Samuel 8:6. The Oasis of Hope Devotional for 2day! THE PAIN OF REJECTION! Samuel’s heart was broken when d people rejected him & his sons. Even though u may feel abandoned by someone’s rejection, u need to look past d rejection & see God having a better plan for u. Beloved, rejection is a cruel & degrading experience. We’re all prone to rejection. However, one persons rejection does not mean we’re unlovable. We’re not defined by past failures or by d rejection of others. But we can allow that one rejection to determine how we feel & allow that feeling to color our idea of who we’re, or we can choose to put that behind us & move forward on d basis of something that is far more lasting. Have u faced rejection? How do u handle it? To succeed at anything, u must learn to face rejection. Some of us even face rejection or moments when we feel dismissed or not accepted by family, friends, peers & others. U may even be facing it now. These are moments when, instead of getting d confirmation needed to boost u forward, u get disapproval. And this creates a wound in d soul that is difficult to heal. How do u ensure that d rejections u face do not hinder yo destiny? Accept rejection as a part of yo journey, a momentary bump in d road. U have a choice to either allow that bump to derail u & walk wounded, or u can choose to move forward in grace. Forgive yoself as well as those who hurt u. Remember they do not know what they’re doing. Pray for those who reject u. Let d Word of God & prayer be yo defense. Cry if u must, but allow d Holy Spirit to be yo comfort. Give no voice to d devil. Be willing to have others pray for u & with u. Be open to God to give u a new outlook in life. Entrust yoself to new opportunities He may have for u. Praise d Lord through it all! See yo rejection as a door that God shuts to protect u from making a mistake & to point u in a new direction! “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.” Psalm 118:22. Prayer: Dear Father, help me to overcome rejection, in Jesus name. Hav an Awesome day! U re unstoppable! Shalom.
