But this morning, talking to my sister about what happened she told me the story of her co-worker... DID YOU KNOW - Approximately 550 are killed and 2,100 civilians and 1,200 firefighters are injured a year from motor vehicle fires and 1 out of 8 fire deaths results from car fires!? Yesterday I witnessed a car fire & I have been rattled about it ever since. I am ashamed to say that while I saw through the front windshield that it looked like no one was in the car, all day I caught myself wondering if I would hear on the news later that night about a baby who had been asleep in the back while mom ran into the store, or maybe the loss of their beloved pet? Then I started thinking What if someone had been inside? How would I have gotten in? I had visions of trying to throw a shopping cart through the window (lol) and Adam Losnegard told me my adrenaline would have kicked in and I would have figured a way in and I guessed he was right. But this morning, talking to my sister about what happened she told me the story of her co-worker... He was driving into work one day and witnesses a car crash that resulted in a car fire. He and several other good Samaritans tried to get the doors open of the vehicle to rescue him and the little boy who was seat-belted in the backseat but the doors were locked and they could not get in. The 2 did not survive and this is a trauma that man continues to struggle with today and likely will the rest of his life. Ive been doing some research online and there is a key-chain sized tool that I have decided I will be buying for myself, my husband, our daughter and my 18 year old niece who drives now too. They come in many different colors so the younger ones will be more inspired to carry them. The tool is called a ResQme Car Escape Tool & the best price I have found is Amazon ($17.95/2). This short 2 minute video explains why everyone of us should have one of these on our key chains because while we might not ever need it for ourselves, God forbid the day might come when you care called to use it for someone else. djbobbytrends/tech-reqme-keychain-could-save-your-life/
