But townships remain symbols of apartheid. Most people were put - TopicsExpress

But townships remain symbols of apartheid. Most people were put in townships after their land was taken forcefully and given to minorities. They were built small holdings with small yards which no one can do nothing important on. Infact mosr townships have NUs. Like your NU 1/NU2 in Mdantsane, which basically means Native Unit. To date Townships remain the most impoverished areas. In places like Diepsloot, Nyanga etc, people live in unbearable conditions. Shacks, slimy waters running through etc. Crime infested and over populated. There is nothing to celebrate with Soweto being the biggest township. Nothing to celebrate with Mdantsane being the 2nd biggest township. Nothing at all. Yes black people have adjusted to this lifestyle and beaten the odds and challenges set to them by the apartheid govt, but they structurally remain what they are, Native Units.
