“But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him (Matt 14:30, 31)”. Friend, I don’t know what you’re going through at this very moment. I don’t know what has you sleep-deprived, tossing and turning at night with that uneasy, queasy feeling in your stomach. I don’t know the category of the situation in which you’re drowning. Emotional? Familial? Physical? Spiritual? Psychological? Marital? Financial? Professional? Ministerial? I don’t know. But I do know this: When God extends His hand and grabs a hold of you, and tightens His grip on you, keeping you together, keeping you from losing your mind, keeping you from going under, He won’t let go; even when you want to. Our God isn’t a god who lets go. He’s a god who tightens His grip on those who He loves; and it’s my duty, my honor, and my privilege to remind you this morning that in spite of it all, you are loved by Love itself. He loves you and He won’t let go of you.
