By Andrew Penman Well I wanted to bring to your attention another web of lies from the BBC. On the topic of job loses again... A story appeared yesterday that I was unaware of about the company Babcock and uncertainty and risk to the dockyard in Rosyth. It states that the staff have been briefed on these concerns should a yes vote come to fruition. Well folks surprise this is wholly untrue. Why do I know this? Well I work there. The say that we are in danger of having the plug pulled on the building of the two aircraft carriers. Firstly the contract for that is sewn up as tight as a drum so they cant and couldnt be cancelled even though the Tories wanted to if they could have and also, the dock that they are being built in is the only one in the UK that they fit. Next is that most of all surface ship refit is undertaken at babcocks other dockyard in Plymouth. Oh yeah remember when the Tories took the trident submarine refits to there to win some votes, even after having spent millions on the facility at Rosyth. The truth is that after the two carriers sail under the bridges down the forth, they may well have been the last Navy ships we will ever see irrespective of any vote on independence. To that end Babcock at Rosyth have been totally diversifying away from Naval refits and are currently working on multi million pound contracts for BP in the oil and gas sector, also on commercial nuclear projects, and part of the yard that was to be for trident is under consultation to become a container port. So is it all doom and gloom? No! Would love to have left comment on their story but guess what? You cant! Sorry for the breathless rant but the bias, lies and scaremongering are really starting to peev me off.
