By Christie Southern Senate subcommittee conducts budget hearings The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary heard from nine state agencies during budget hearinga Tuesday at the Capitol. The discussions were heavily focused on pay increases for law enforcement agency staff. Director Stan Florence of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations said his agency is requesting an increase of $3.4 million from the 2015 fiscal year. Pay raises for OSBI employees represent a significant part of the request at $2 million. Florence said the intent is to provide across the board pay raises, as he reminded lawmakers the agency has not had a salary adjustment since 2006. The agency is also asking for increase of six positions in full-time staff; two, which would go to computer forensic specialists, Florence said.
