By Leonard Coleman The man- made polar vortex has been documented over and over.. Search that phrase.I documented them from Mid November a year ago until spring (pictures in my albums). It is the greatest threat we face..Isis ,Ebola, financial collapse all pale compared to it. The aging infra-structure was not designed to handle such cold extremes. The pipes are not buried deep enough,and electric lines contract in cold and are more prone to failure. The closing of coal plants and last winters gas shortages dont bode well with the energy needed to handle it. A trough created and held off the west coast gives them drought but opens up the eastern two thirds of the country to cold air.
