By Mom You are NOT gonna believe this!!! slow build, be patient. :) Got a call at 7AM this morning. Brittlyn had been hysterical since about 4:00AM and she really wanted me so the nurse reluctantly called me. I asked if I could speak to her then told her I would be there as soon as I could. She asked, between her sobs, for me to pray for her and to comfort her. So we got things together as quickly as we could and headed to the hospital for the day. It was a really exhausting day. My dad came up to visit for a few hours and he helped take turns with Cameron and I as we sat with her, held her hand, comforted her, and repeated ourselves 100 times. Soooo tiring. She was simply convinced of several very frightening things and it was hard to get her to believe she was safe. We got word around 10AM that there was a room open for her and then around 11 they told us the move would be at 2PM. YAY!!! We were so excited, but tried to stay calm as not to get her more agitated. We recently met a young man who was in Brittlyns similar situation this same time last year. The Lord touched him and he has a remarkable story to tell. Our new room is literally right next door to the room he was in!! We thought that was pretty cool. Maybe there is still a little miracle air hangn around. :) hee hee So we got Brittlyn all set up, my dad left, and Cameron and I found ourselves exhausted and in much need of a break. We stepped out to run an errand and to eat. When we came back, RT (respiratory therapy) came in and announced she was there TO REMOVE BRITTLYNS TRACH!!!!! We were shocked!! Just earlier that day we had asked how close we were to the removal. The answer given was Close, but they may want to see... this and that. SO this was a total surprise to us! It took like 2 seconds to remove and they just covered the hole with a large bandage. They say it should close up very quickly! That was it! No stitches, no nothing! Immediately Brittlyn said, I like that better. :) RT says she will be able to breath better, swallow better, and thus EAT better!! So.... next step, get the feeding tube out!! Deep breath... Here we go!!!!
