When is the last time you heard a politician talk about cutting his own salary? I have only known one. He is my county commissioner, and he did not accept a salary increase. I am sure there are a few more, but most politicians vote to increase their salaries and benefits. They vote to give themselves and their staffs (who cover for them) benefits which are not available to the people or to veterans. They even find ways to hide the fact they increased their salaries and benefits. Our representatives in government have not been representing the best interest of the people for a very long time. They have been representing their own private interest. They want to be re-elected and to become wealthy at the taxpayers expense. Some of them use their influence as legislators to get kick-backs and perks for favors and laws they get through which help unions and wealthy businessmen. That is why in Socialism they are called the WEALTHY RULING CLASS. These days, it is almost impossible to become elected if you are not wealthy; and in most cases, if politicians are not wealthy when they are elected, they soon will be. They have ways.......
