Phil Bryant called on the Mississippi Legislature to invest in building the best workforce in the nation. Mississippi suffers from the chronic problem of setting lofty goals without providing adequate funding — the public school system being the most glaring example. Bryant will never realize his high expectations of the best workforce in the nation until the Mississippi Adequate Education Program is fully funded in accordance with state law. In spite of an expected $295 million budget surplus, Bryants 2015 budget recommendation underfunds MAEP by $284.5 million. Please click the link to read the entire article.
