By way of general information, please note the following regarding the courts procedures for addressing outstanding traffic and ordinance violation tickets. You can walk in on any day to resolve old Misdemeanors. If they are older than July 1, 2006 and are not drunk driving tickets, they will be dismissed per Administrative Order 2013-24 and all fines, costs, & fees will be waived. If they are newer than July 1, 2006, you can walk in any day before 9:30 a.m. for the morning docket or before 2:00 p.m. for the afternoon docket and ask to be sent to the Judges courtroom to whom your lead ticket is assigned. That is your Judge of Record. The lead ticket is the newest ticket you have before the court. There are court-appointed defense attorneys in every Misdemeanor courtroom. When you come before the Judge some of them will be able to handle your matters that day, others may have to reschedule your matters to a future date, but may remove your warrants that day, & others may require you to post a bond before you can be heard or have the warrants removed. It depends on that Judges discretion. If you have Civil Infractions that predate December 1, 2006, they will also be dismissed under a 2014 Administrative Order. If they are newer than December 1, 2006, you have options. You can go to courtroom 233 or 234 to meet with the DPD Officers who are running the Civil Infractions Pre-Hearing program; you can walk in to the assigned Magistrate or Judges courtroom after stopping to verify to which Magistrate/Judge your case(s) is(are) assigned, and ask to be heard regarding your Civil Infractions; or you can bring in your own attorney to help you resolve the civil infractions. I cannot give you legal advice, only general information, so please do not ask me about specific cases because I cannot answer your questions. Likewise, DO NOT allow anyone other than an attorney -- court-appointed or your own, to give you legal advice or tell you what can or cannot be done with your case(s). I hope this helps to clarify things for everyone. I know it can be difficult to navigate the states busiest district court, but we are focused on delivering excellent customer service! Make it a phenomenal day!
