#CAIR-San Diego Asks FBI to Probe Letter Threat, Unknown Substance Sent to Mosque (SAN DIEGO, CA, 10/9/14) -- The San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Diego) today asked the FBI to investigate a threatening letter with an unknown substance sent to a local Mosque. CAIR-San Diego reported that the letter referred to applying the “DEATH sentence” and also made reference to Los Angeles, Oakland and San Francisco. Because of those references, the Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization is asking California mosques to report any similar threats. Any such threat is serious, but it is of particular concern when a house of worship is targeted, said CAIR-San Diego Executive Director Hanif Mohebi. We believe this incident is a direct result of the rising level of anti-Muslim sentiment in our society that goes largely unchallenged.
