CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF CALIFORNIA OFFICIALS ON THE UBER SCANDAL There has been another UBER auto accident in California involving serious injuries. Uber Car Involved in 2-Car, 5-Injury Collision in Costa Mesa: Police | NBC Southern California The blood of these hapless victims is on the hands of the California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones and Department of Motor Vehicles Director Jean Shimoto. (California PUC Director Peevey has already resigned in disgrace and is being investigated by the FBI). 1) The District Attorneys of Los Angeles and San Francisco sued UBER for 1/2 million for falsely advertising that UBER had Thorough background checks. (The DAs described them as worthless) 2) The UBER Insurance Carrier is located in Bermuda. What is happening all over the USA is that the UBER policy is simply not paying claims. Dave Jones knew this and approved UBER anyway. 3) The UBER business model is unsafe at any speed. Unlicensed amateur drivers, some of them felons, driving in unfamiliar neighborhoods at high speeds while looking at a GPS and texting with UBER HQ. What could possibly go wrong? (Ask the family of six year old Sofia Liu, deceased) 4) The latest UBER California Bribery Scandal has everybody pointing their fingers at each other. Maybe if they passed a law that stupid or dishonest people could not serve in the California Legislature, we wouldnt have these kind of problems. Legislators drop the ball on ride-sharing, then bash DMV | The Sacramento Bee The Sacramento Bee 5) It is rumored that Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus is considering moving headquarters from Sarasota FL to Sacramento CA (Because there is such an abundance of clowns there- The California Legislature). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- UBER CORRUPTION RAMPANT EVERYWHERE, ESPECIALLY IN NEW YORK Sheldon Silver, the Speaker of the New York State Assembly since 1994 has been indicted by U.S. Attorney Preet Shawahara. It can only be presumed that Silver was instrumental in getting UBER originally approved and then got them an overnight reversal of five of the UBER radio bases being shut down for illegal activity. Lobbyists in New York hired by UBER knew that Silver was the main Fixer and Took care of him. (Capo di tutti capi) crainsnewyork/article/20150126/BLOGS01/150129880/nys-is-the-second-most-corrupt and nypost/2015/01/26/cuomo-on-edge-as-federal-corruption-probe-continues/ Whether its New York or California, if you see a latter-day Diogenes walking around with a lantern Looking for and honest man, tell him he can skip California and New York, UBER Lobbyists converted the few who were into money-grubbing bribe takers. athensguide/journalists/articles/honestman.htm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OTHER NEWS THAT IS UNPLEASANT FOR UBER LIARS, THIEVES AND CROOKS 1) New York Attorney General forces UBER to Freeze surge prices to 2.8 times retail during the blizzard this week. Sorry investors, no more windfall profits. Too bad, so sad. Spiking Uber rates will be capped amid blizzard | New York Post 2) Florida giving UBER the ass-whipping it so richly deserves. Uber Drivers Fined More than $44,000 in Series of Florida Stings 3) UBERs main competitor LYFT grew 500% last year. Lyfts meme: We are not as crooked as UBER. (But theyre still crooked.) Lyft revenue grew five-fold last year | Crains New York Business 4) Annapolis MD gives UBER a serious drubbing. UBER is only successful in cities like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles where politicians and regulators can be bought like cookies and candy at Walmart. Smaller and medium sized cities see UBER for the crooks that they are. Annapolis will clamp down on Uber Technologies drivers - Baltimore Sun 5) UBER thinks their lobbyists them the candy store so they can go hog wild with no silly regulations. Guess again, UBER surf bums! More licenses and permits are waiting for you before you can start running over little six year old girls. Check this out: Uber, Lyft get business licenses in Oklahoma City Posted: Jan 23, 2015 m.newsok/uber-lyft-get-business-licenses-in-oklahoma-city/article/5387401 and: m.news9/story.aspx?story=27927892&catId=112032 ***************************************** On Jan 25, 2015, at 6:25 PMokcviplimo@yahoo> wrote: On another matter, the City of OKC granted Uber and Lyft permits to operate. It appeared to be a rush to vote day. Almost simultaneously, duplicate bills were introduced into the Senate and the House. Only a guy like Plouffe could slam dunk the ball in Oklahoma. ha Anyway, I would like to each of you to pull up: m.news9/story.aspx?story=27927892&catId=112032 scroll headlines to article Traffic Commission approves permits for Uber and Lyft Drivers. & newsok scroll headlines to Uber, Lyft get business Licenses in OKC. I wish to point out to Ms. Holley that her Headline is in error. No permits were approved for Uber and Lyft drivers, only the companies to operate within the city limits of OKC. Each driver now will have to go through the ordinance 56 requirements to get their permit and license i.e: application, vehicle certification inspection by an ASE mechanic with a final police officer inspection, OSBI criminal background check, proof of insurance and proper security verification upon inspection, signage within vehicle, posting rates on their app or apps(can not operate with more than one company), medical certificate signed from an OKC Physician certifying the physical and mental health of the driver to operate on the streets of OKC.,the MVR from a tag agency showing the driving record, demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, and proof of their private insurance if they have such insurance. The problem here is private insurance companies have specific exclusions from operating the vehicle for commercial for hire transportation. As soon as the insurance company finds out the vehicle is a Lyft or Uber vehicle, the policy is automatically canceled for breach, and then the alleged secondary policy that Uber and Lyft claim they have covering the driver becomes the primary policy only when the driver is transporting a passenger ONLY within the city limits of OKC and NOT the suburbs. Matt Skinner, spokesman for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission says the driver, an independent contractor, only has a license from Uber or Lyft to use their proprietary app and therefore, the driver is subject to the State Statute Title 47 and the OAC 165: 1-30 rules. Therefore the driver must comply fully with the state laws and also have a USDOT number since the State of Oklahoma adopted by rule the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Rule 390. All the drivers are not employees of Uber or Lyft but individual businesses operating a motor vehicle for hire in the State of Oklahoma so state compliance is also required. Will the drivers and future Oklahomans who want to driver for Uber and Lyft comply with the laws? Will these independent operators apply for an Oklahoma Sales Tax permit which is the law, and have these companies as third parties charge the tax on the customers credit card and remit to the OTC on the drivers behalf? As long as full compliance is followed with state and local law, the 107 legal competitors welcome the fair competition. After reviewing the articles and my comments, you will see some of Plouffes strategy forthcoming in many states and cities. We are taking off the gloves and taking this corruption straight to the OK Attorney General and demanding a full investigation. We need the support of everyone, especially, the NLA and the TPLA. If we dont huddle up they will run right through us.
