CALL TO EXPERIENCED TRADE WORKERS TO APPLY FOR CHIETA FUNDED RPL ASSESSMENT PROCESS TO BECOME CERTIFICATED ARTISANS The CHIETA invites persons with required theoretical and work experience evidence who would like to be supported through the RPL process towards trade test to contact your nearest participating CHIETA accredited decentralised trade test centre. This is a CHIETA funded Project aimed at assisting competent persons that meet the required criteria to obtain a trade test certificate. The RPL Process has multiple steps ranging from pre-evaluation (screening test), preparation (brush up training of 3 weeks if needed), and gap training culminating in a trade test. The project is for the following CHIETA designated trades: Boilermaker Diesel Mechanic Electrician Fitter Rigger Turner Instrument Mechanician Motor Mechanic Welder REQUIRED CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE The applicant must meet the following criteria for eligibility. Evidence to confirm that candidates obtained prior training AND workplace experience against any of the trades listed above is needed. • 5 years or more trade relevant working experience without theoretical background OR • 3 years relevant on-the-job experience with N2 or higher (with 4 subjects relevant to a trade) or CHIETA N2 Equivalent OR • 3 years relevant working experience with relevant engineering NCV qualification at NQF Level 3 OR • 18 Months relevant working experience plus completion of relevant working experience modules and relevant engineering NC(V) 4 OR • 18 Months relevant working experience (directly related to the trade theory subjects) N6 Technical certificate or National Technical Diploma ( S or N stream) OR • 3 years relevant working experience with technical Grade 12 with Maths, Engineering Science and related trade theory subjects OR • 4 years relevant working experience with Grade 9 with Maths passed OR • 80 weeks relevant on-the-job experience with Engineering Learnership, NQF levels 2,3 & 4 related to the 9 trades listed above Please Note: o Unemployed persons and those not permanently employed who meet the requirements will be receive priority. o ALL CANDIDATES must provide certified copies of proof of training, workplace experience testimonial and other relevant documents that are required when applying.
