What we are envisioning is an integrative healthcare practice here in San Diego that integrates both Eastern and Western healing modalities, including conventional biomedicine, traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbs), chiropractic, Ayurveda, nutritional counseling, massage, shiatsu, Tai Chi, Yoga, and many other complementary and alternative therapies. The goal of the Integrative group is to continue building bridges among all types of health practitioners by way of the Socratic method, which as a dialectic method of enquiry allows for open-ended discussion within a structured format. This will not only help establish connections among future doctors, but will also educate, raise awareness and enlighten the community on the ever-growing topic of integrative medicine. Our mission is to lead the transformation of healthcare by creating, educating, and actively supporting a community of professionals who embody the philosophy and practice of integrative medicine. We would also like to emphasize the role of education as a means of reaching out to our community and making more people aware of health, healing, and lifestyle choices.
