CAMAS PRAIRIE TRAP SHOOT: Garfield protects lead with 75, captures title Posted: Monday, March 17, 2014 12:00 am – Lewiston Morning Tribune As closely contested as the 61st Camas Prairie Trap Shoot turned out to be, one club controlled its destiny in the late going, all the way to the title. Garfield fired a 75 to protect its lead Sunday and captured the championship of the 10-week competition at various gun clubs in the region. The perfect score was necessary, too, because second-place Orofino-Pierce also submitted a 75 on a high-scoring final day, along with Culdesac, Grangeville, Troy-Deary and Whitebird and Wallace-Kellogg. Wallace-Kellogg thus pulled into a tie for third place with Nezperce. Individually, Dave Powers of Orofino-Pierce and Guy Olson of Colton tied for the top spot with six perfect scores for the season, while Holly Ledgerwood of Pomeroy matched the tally of Troy-Deary shooters Dawn Barnard and Tracy Arvas among the women, at two apiece. Culdesac ran away with the Juniors title.
