CAN YOU IDENTIFY? - These fish and frogs we found in our pond today! The pond is ALIVE!! Finally, after a whole year of being just a muddy hole in the ground, today while out planting and tidying up around the pond I noticed lots of big bubbles coming up. I saw something the size of my pinky with a frilly neck come up and dart back under, and have no idea what it was. Investigating I went to the small stream to discover lots of little fish! You could have knocked me down with a feather! Earlier I had grabbed my spade as a microphone and burst into song when I discovered the 5 frogs this morning (what? theres no one around for miles to hear me singing, ha!) But to see FISH!!!! Unbelievable! I shouted Fire all the way as I ran back to get Charlea and hubby, and sure enough they confirmed I wasnt going crazy (today) and we do indeed have fish, and even bigger ones around the other side. But what are they? Are they tadpoles? We tried looking on the internet but cant find ones like ours.. which are a darker brown colour. Please help if you can... we would love to know what fish and frogs we have. And does anyone know what all the black spots are in the frog photo... that cant be frog spawn as it doesnt look like jelly stuff, or is it?? We hope our followers can identify our new residents for us, and we are soooo happy that the pond has come to life!! Yaye!! (sorry its so hard to focus on them, but I hope you can see them enough to tell me if they are fish, and what sort?)
