CASTING CALL A POWERFUL SHOW FOR AFRICAN-AMERCIAN ACTRESSES!!! THE GIRLS OF SUMMER This is the NYC Off-Broadway revival of Layon Grays powerful 2006 NAACP award winning play. This version of the play hasnt been down since. Its a murder/mystery. There is a lot of physical moving in the play. Baseball/softball experience is a plus. STORY LINE: Set in 1945, the coach of an All- Negro female baseball team is found dead as she was preparing a group of African- American females for an exhibition game against the all white girls team Rockford Peaches. Racism, deceit, betrayal are brought to light as this powerful drama unveils. This is an open-ended run performing on Wednesday nights in NYC. Opening January 8th 2014. Says a lot of racist things but doesnt realize it, yet hes smarter than what he lets on to be.
