CATHOLIC LOOP-HOLES 101...... NOW IM TOLD THAT BECAUSE I HAVE FAMILY PHOTOS, ITS OK FOR CATHOLICS TO USE STATUES, IDOLS, IMAGES IN THEIR WORSHIP.. AND THAT BECAUSE DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE ARK OF THE LORD-YHWH, ITS OK TO HAVE STATUES, IDOLS, IMAGES IN WORSHIP... THEY EQUATE THE ARK OF THE LORD-YHWH, AND GODS PRESENCE, WITH THEIR STATUES, IDOLS, IMAGES..... THATS THE DEPRAVITY OF ROMAN CATHOLICISM.....IT DOESNT GET ANY LOWER... SINCE WHEN DO I USE MY FAMILY PHOTOS IN MY WORSHIP OF THE LORD..??????? THE LORD AUTHORIZED THE ARK AND GAVE MOSES THE EXACT DIMENSION OF ITS DESIGN, WHERE DOES THE LORD GIVE THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH THE COMMAND TO MAKE STATUES, IMAGES, IDOLS..?? WHAT VERSE OF SCRIPTURE IS THAT..?? WHAT BOOK OF SCRIPTURE.?? THE TIBETAN BOOK OF THE DEAD..??? In the Old Testament when God delivered the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt, many of his people yearned for the idols of the gods of the Egyptians (Ezk. 20:1-16). On their journey to the promised land the children of Israel fashioned their own image and attempted to worship the true God in a similar manner as the Egyptians worshiped their false gods. Needless to say, their idolatrous worship provoked God to wrath, and three thousand lost their lives (Ex. 32:1-28). From mount Sinai man was given the ten commandments engraved on two tables of stone written with Gods own omnipotent finger to instruct man in the way of truth (Ex. 31:18). Because of mans propensity to make and bow down to images, God included the second of the ten commandments as a prohibition against the making and use of images in any shape or form to be used in any religious worship (Ex. 20:4,5; Deut. 4:16). “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Ex. 20:4-6) “Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.” (Lev. 26:1) “Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,... For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” (Deut. 4:15-24) When God told Moses to make two cherubims (angels) on the ark of the covenant, the high priest was never instructed to bow down to these statues of cherubim or to pray to the angels in heaven that they represented (Ex. 25:1-40; 37:7-9). When God told Moses to make a brass serpent the people were instructed to only “look upon it,” no one was told to bow down to it or pray before it (Num. 21:8,9). When the people began to venerate the image and burn incense to it, King Hezekiah did that which was right in the sight of the LORD and destroyed it (II Kings 18:3,4). Solomons Temple had many carvings, images, and even statues of angels and oxen, but in no case did anyone bow down before them and pray to what they represented (I Kings 6:21-29; 6:32,35; 7:23-29; II Chr. 4:2-5-15). Some churches use similar such decorations of angels etc, as God has not completely prohibited art. You cross the line though when you bow down before any image in prayer. That act of bowing down before any image in worship is what God so clearly forbids THE LORD NEVER AUTHORIZED THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TO MAKE ANY STATUES, IMAGES, IDOLS...EVER...THERE IS NOT ONE VERSE OF SCRIPTURE THAT REFERS TO ANY SUCH COMMAND.
