CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett and two unknown colleagues were caught on a hot mic having a revealing exchange related to the Ebola crisis. One reporter comments to Garrett that the “most interesting thing is the travel ban stuff,” referring to the government’s decision not to restrict travel to nations which pose an Ebola risk. He responds: Yeah, we’re screwed. His colleague then says that “If this D.C. test comes back positive I’ll be doing phoners all weekend.” Presumably she is referring to performing interviews via phone instead of in-person to avoid human contact and diminish the chance of contracting the disease.
