CCFL DIV 1 RESULT: Stradbally Town 4-1 Moate Celtic Stradbally got their League campaign back on track with a good win against the Westmeath men this morning. Stradbally were up for it from the word go and after creating 5 or 6 great chances Derek Gorman finally put them ahead on 24 minutes with a right footed finish from 6 yards. His strike partner Jody Dillon got in on the act 10 minutes later after he finished a fine run and shot despite the away keepers best efforts to keep it out. 2-0 at the break. Straight away at the start of the second half Podge Fitzpatrick broke the Moate offside trap and Squared for Dillon who got his second of the game. Moate pulled one back on 66 minutes with a fine volley that left Robbie Moore helpless in the Home goal but Stradbally made sure of the Points when Derek Gorman grabbed his second of the Game to leave it 4-1 at the finish. A good all round work rate from the Stradbally lads ensured they came out on top with Ger Byrne Solid at the Back, Tom Shiel and Justin Lalor excelling in Midfield and Podge Fitz and Jake Byrne tireless on the wings making sure Stradbally got their Division 1 campaign back on track.
