CCNPWT systems consist of a therapy device, a canister with tubing, and a wound dressing kit. The dressing is applied on to the wound bed and covered with a transparent PU film drape and attached to the therapy device using the drainage tubing(part of the dressing kit) and canister. After initiating the therapy device negative pressure the foam dressing collapses in the wound cavity draws wound exudates/ excess fluid from the wound into the canister while the clear film helps to prevent outside bacteria from entering the dressing. This also improves blood flow to the wound bed enhancing dermal perfusion which accelerates the healing process.
