CELTIC have clinched the £3million signing of Finland striker Teemu Pukki. Schalke star Pukki will fly to Glasgow tomorrow to seal the deal. Hoops boss Neil Lennon is also confident of landing a midfielder in 48 hours. Celts struggled to draw with Caley Thistle yesterday and it took goals from defenders Charlie Mulgrew and Adam Matthews to rescue a point, underlining the team’s need for a new striker. Pukki will not be eligible for the Champions League crunch against Shakhter Karagandy, but Lennon hopes his arrival will hand his squad a boost. The Northern Irishman has been trying to tie up a deal for Finn Pukki for two weeks, but Schalke, who have yet to win any games in the Bundesliga, had refused to sell. But now they have and Pukki, who has eight goals from 37 appearances for Schalke, will get his dream move. Woes “I am hoping we will have two players in by midweek. One is a striker, the other is a midfielder.” Lennon’s injury woes piled up as Beram Kayal limped off against Caley after 22 minutes. But the Hoops boss is confident Georgios Samaras and Kris Commons, who both sat out yesterday, will be fit for the Shakhter game. Lennon added: “I am hoping Sami and Kris will be available. “They are looking optimistic about things. “James Forrest is probably 50-50. We will have to see how they come on in the next couple of days. “Anthony Stokes has a grade-one calf strain and is doubtful. “Beram is out. He has got a groin strain, he felt it pop during the game. “Virgil van Dijk got a wee bit of twinge as well from his hamstring. “So we are really stretched. But it is what is and you have got to get on with it. “I was really disappointed with our performance today.”
