CENTRAL MEDICAL STORES TRUST VACANCY The Central Medical Stores Trust was created on 16th August 2011. It is responsible for procurement, warehousing and distribution of medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities in Malawi. The Trust is now inviting applications from suitable candidates to fill the following position: Post : Pharmacist (1 Position) Grade : MS5 Reporting to : Director of Pharmaceutical Operations Duties and Responsibilities Under the responsibility of the Director of Pharmaceutical Operations, he / she shall ensure the management and supervision of pharmaceutical operations in the specific area in which he / she shall be assigned including but not limited to procurement, warehousing, quality assurance, pharmaceutical information and distribution. Specifically, the Pharmacist shall undertake the following duties and responsibilities: • Implement and enforce the strict adherence to standard operating procedures in all pharmaceutical operations. • Supervise and monitor warehouse activities and processes. • Ensure efficient inventory management, order fulfillment and distribution of medicines and medical and supplies; • Ensure regulatory compliance of all pharmaceutical operations. • Ensuring proper filing and archiving of all documentation related to pharmaceutical procurement, warehousing and distribution. • Supervise the encoding and updating of all stock movements in the Management Information system; • Check and approve all receipts and issue of medicines and medical supplies; • Liaise with the Accounting Department on Client Invoicing. • Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient shipment of all routine in line with approved distribution schedule; • Perform regular stock takes, stock status reports, physical inventories and reports of stock discrepancies to management; • Manage and optimize the use of warehouse equipment, space and tools; • Supervise subordinate staff and ensure their on the job training as required. • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmaceutical Operations. REQUIREMENTS: • FOUR YEAR Degree in Pharmacy from a recognizable institution. • Registration with the Pharmacy Medicines and Poisons Board • At least two years working experience in any of the following: pharmaceutical warehouse, health care institution, drug regulatory body, pharmaceutical industry or other pharmaceutical organizations. • Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team and in a very busy environment with strict deadlines to be adhered to • Good communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English and ability to write clear reports in English; • Flexibility and willingness to work in odd hours; • Ability to facilitate collaborative approach to enhance supply chain; • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office suite applications including, Word, Excel and Power Point; NB: Newly qualified pharmacists are encouraged to apply (if already registered by the PMPB) as the Trust may provide opportunities for mentoring young pharmacists wishing to make a career with the Trust.
