CHABALALA PRAISES BAMBINO’S HAVEN Deputy chairperson of Kanye Administrative Authority has commended Bambino’s Haven English Medium Pre-School management for having embraced government’s effort to enhance pre-elementary education. Mr Thamiso Chabalala said during Bambino’s Haven graduation ceremony recently that it was gratifying that although being a business entity, the school had proved over the years that they had a place for underprivileged children by enlisting a number of them annually. “It is the only privately owned school as far as I know in Kanye that recognises disadvantaged children and gives them free education,” said Mr Chabalala who is a councillor for Bagami ward. The gesture to plough back into society, he said, needed not to be only applauded but calls for the support of the entire community to ensure its sustenance. Councillor Chabalala who pledged chairs to the school called on all role players to rally behind the school’s vision and ensure the fulfillment of good virtues by Bambino Haven gets realised. Councillor for Mmatshitswane ward, Mr Mosimanegape Tshane concurred with councillor Chabalala saying members of the community should support the gesture by Bambino’s Haven. He said however that many parents were hamstrung by tough economic times that make it difficult for them to send their children to schools such as Bambino’s Haven. Councillor Tshane praised the boldness with which some parents who have resolved to send their children to the school saying pre-school was a good foundation for early education. Bambino’s Haven school head, Mr Proud Ndlera had stated earlier in his welcome address that it was the school’s vision to give out quality education. “Pre-primary education is a good foundation and critical to raise holistic kids who are disciplined and instilled with the fear of the lord,” he said adding that they had also introduced a programme for babies from as young as six months to relief nursing mothers who were having hard time with maids. Out of a total of 15 graduating children, five were underprivileged and fully sponsored by Bambino’s Haven. (BOPA)
