CHANGES IN PROCEDURE This group is very new and we are still figuring out how to safe and viable alternatives to bottle feeding the very young (1 day to 2 weeks) animals. Recently, in an effort to save three young kittens, I inadvertently exposed the two other mom cats and fifteen kittens to upper respiratory infection. Going forward, we will need to impose a quarantine of some kind on orphans in order to safeguard the health of the potential adoptive mom and litter. I will be speaking to a vet for more advice on timing and screening procedures and we will institute that SOP as soon as possible. For now what we will need are people willing to bottle feed new kittens and puppies until it is deemed safe for them to join another litter. I know that there will be emergency situations, but in those cases if the infant doesnt take to a bottle, then tube-feeding will be the next step. Anyone who is interested in bottle feeding but has not done it, let me know by posting here. Anyone who has done tube-feeding and can assist others by training or just being a resource, please let us know. Thanks all!
