CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS: Balanced my checkbook today and such the like. Dropping so much on outside meals, have decided that THAT is the figure every month that Ill match. If I can eat it indulgently, I can donate it righteously. Among my usual beneficiaries, UNICEF; Greenwich Village Historic Preservation Society; Bowery Mission; several other childrens aid, battered womens aid, Drs w/o Borders, other food pantries, etc, Ive added the JNF, which today I sent $250 because although most of the news thats reaching us here is of how the perpetrators of this recent escalation arent enjoying Ramadan (see todays NYTimes), news out of The Jewish Agency for Israel is that 70% of the country is being bombed, including Tel Aviv. The money donated goes for more bomb shelters and shelter provisions for this besieged country -- never once, and this includes the wars against us in 68 and 74, the perpetrators -- who do build bomb shelters for civilian population, and who carefully disseminate advisories to civilians being used as Hamas human shields which are often ignored by a population who prefers aggression to accord. UN President Ban Ki Moon has called upon Hamas to cease the bombing, but unless you read the full NYTimes articles, youd hardly know it. SO: thats what I did today. ((By the way, im not checking FB messages, and Im not checking FB notifications: most of you in my circle are dissapointingly unknowing about the history of this conflict and only jump on the propaganda, so I dont want to seek out those of you who are working for the demise of my people. But when that becomes known to me, I will decide whether you are worth my FB or personal friendship. So dont bother to reply, Im just telling you my day, all you people who only make yourselves look good to each other in this new era of anti-Semitism, but do nothing about ANYTHING you say you advocate. I grew up hearing, Why didnt you Jews fight back, about the Holocaust, so OK, we are fighting back now, when there are almost none of us left, and certainly none of the secular Jewish population of yesteryear. Well, the Earth is headed to mass extinction anyway, so as we go, so go us, everyone, but along with my contributions to keep us ALL from going, is this one for my own people --
