CHECK FOR BLIND SPOTS!!! I was in Vegas after a show a while back. And as I sat at a buffet, I watched people. I watched people pick at their food and leave full plates to be thrown in the garbage as they went to grab more. I looked down at my plate; I had been doing the same thing. And i thought about how many restaurants throw away enough food daily to put a major dent in world hunger. I thought about how the Bible says it would be hard for the rich to enter heaven. We usually think about Bill Gates or Oprah when we think rich. But we as a country are richer than at least 80% of the world. So rich that in light of all of the hunger in the world, we are able to sit at buffets, pick at 20 different foods, and throw pounds and pounds of food away as we leave feeling miserably full. I think if those starving children were right outside of the restaurant, we wouldnt be able to do that. But because we are so far away from it, we grow numb because the scales we use are based on western economics. Growing up in the U.S. is a blessing in the natural, but it causes us to have such spiritual blind spots. Those that have are expected to look out for those who have not. Lets try to remember that the American Lenses we view the world through are not the same lenses most of the world uses. We are the minority. If there was Occupy The World, we would be the 1%. Never forget how good you have it and your duty to bless others. Ummmm, thats it for today! =)
