CHECK YOUR VET Went to the local Vet recently where my dog was diagnosed as having a Mast Cell Tumour on her leg just above the knee. Estimated cost of operation to remove the Tumour was $1,150.00 + $55.00 consultation fee. This included pre-op blood tests, fluids during the operation and Pathology tests. Same Vet charges $100.75 for a C5 vaccination for a 33kg dog. Went to Fur Kids Vet in Middle Road Greenbank, not too far from Rochedale where the exact same procedures as above cost. Wait for it, ONLY $450.00 for the Mast Cell Tumour removal and ONLY $40.00 for the C5 Vaccination. This saved me a massive $815.75 The care my dog received was second to none by an experienced, caring staff. How many elderly pensioners are going without to pay these exorbitant Vet fees? How many might have to consider euthanizing their beloved companion because they are unable to meet such exaggerated prices charged by greedy, grabbing vets?
