CHEER UP BRETHREN “These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11). Many children of God, due to their lack of insight in the scriptures, they are unable to stable their confidence in the Word, so whenever the tempter blows some storms around their boat, they easily forget the presence of the Almighty; and quickly begin to express fear, being terrified by the unreal winds, that comes to test their stand. However, “…we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” (Romans 8:28), and that “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear…” (1 John 4:18), which means, if you believe that God loves you, then, you have no reason to fear anything at all, because, the certainty of God’s love for you in your heart, expels fear. But, many God’s children, do not realize that God loved them before they came to know of His love: as the bible recalls that, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16), which gives an understanding that, God gave His Son as a revelation of His love to us, and that, His Son was the prove, or the evidence of the reality of His love to our conviction; to stimulate us to believe that of a truth He love us, even if indeed He could stretch to the extent of sacrificing His Son on our behalf, then without any controversy, such love is worthy to be accepted without any doubt, for “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for [others]” (John 15:13). Also, concerning me and you of today: it is over 2000 years ago, that God’s love was manifested to the world: and now have we come to the knowledge of that love, which is over 2000 years ago, and now have we believed; and now are we dwelling in it. Yet, the bible emphasize clearly that, before that love was manifested, the love existed from the beginning, before the foundation of the world: many centuries, and generations passed before the time that God gave His Son was due: and we only got to know of it, after God had given His Son, yet, it was already in existence before it was manifested. Unfortunately, many God’s children look at their situations, and the circumstances around them, and they waver; staggering in their walk of faith, not very sure, if God truly love them or maybe the bible was written for some other people. Some even faint in their minds as to whether God is with them or not, forgetting that the Lord Jesus promised those that are His that, “…lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20). Remember He said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you…” (John 15:16), meaning, before you became a member of the body of Christ, He already knew you by your name, and had plans for your life before you came to the scene, for “…thus saith the LORD that created thee…and he that formed thee…I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; that art mine” (Isaiah 43:1). The LORD comforts you His beloved, saying, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee…” (Jeremiah 1:5) unto my glory, virtue, perfection and excellence; that I will make you to inherit my blessing, and beautifies you with grace for my pleasure. “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son…Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified” (Romans 8:29-30), that means, God foresaw that you will exist today, and preordained for you to walk in the path of victory, success, and greatness, to make you a wonder to your world, and to manifest His glory through you to the world. Therefore, if you believe that you love the Lord, then the bible helps you to clearly understand that, “We love Him, because He first loved us” (1John 4:19). The Lord says to tell you, do not be intimidated by any contrary wind that may blow around you, refuse to be cast down; never lose focus on Him, because, “…He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper…” (Hebrews 13:5-6), He’s your helper not to some extent, but to any extent, “For the LORD taketh pleasure in His people…” (Psalm 149:4), and delights in His children, even as He inhabits the praise of His saints. Thus, brethren, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD…Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His Name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations” (Psalm 100). Therefore, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2-4), maintain a cheerful heart; and “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand” Hence, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7), “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7), and He “…shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Finally brethren, though these are the days of perilous times: but we abide in the living God, and in the strengthening of Christ, and as evil abound in the world: so as grace abounds toward us, tribulation may exist in the world: but we have peace in the Lord, it doesn’t matter whatever storm may hit the ship, we trust in the Name of Lord to hush the sea, irrespective of whatsoever opposes the truth, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Romans 8:37), for “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). CHEER UP BRETHREN; WE ARE BORN TO REIGN IN HIS NAME.
