Packed Programme Announced for Black History Month 2013 October 2013 is Black History Month, and this year a stunning programme of performances, from a host of stars, some new and others well known names, are coming to Enfield to entertain and inform. Kicking off with the ‘Black History Banquet’ the month starts by showcasing John Blanke, an accomplished black musician who is likely to have performed in Elsyng Palace during the 1500’s. Learn about John through special workshops held at Forty Hall throughout the whole of October. Star of television and radio, Stephen K Amos returns to Enfield when he joins us for a night of stand-up at the Millfield on Thursday 8 October, Stephen’s shows are always popular, so book now to ensure a place for this one night only performance! The month also hits a high note with three of the most important influences on the British black music scene, Janet Kay and Caroll Thompson are joined by the multi talented star of stage and screen Victor Romero Evans to perform the very best of Lovers Rock. This is a foot tapping, show stopping event and not to be missed. The talented trio rock the Millfield during the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October. The King of Pop returns for one night only, as the multi talented performer ‘Ben’ recreates the electric song and dance routines of the one and only Michael Jackson, catch the famous moves on Thursday 24th October, again at the Millfield Theatre.
