CHICHIRIA AWAY Marawi Students Sweep the Dirt Away Marawi - Home of the oldest home, torogan, where datus once held house and welcomed heads of state and armies, Dayawan, Toros, Tuca and other barangays played site to a solid waste management launch (SWM) with a clean-up drive starting 7 in the morning lastihg with a program in the afternoon. Bacarat National High School hosted with 200 students each carrying a walis-tingting, capping the drive with a song , The More We Get Together and We are the World. They also raised their hands for an oath to protect Mother Earth this World Environment Month . Teachers committed to enforce the SWM curriculum pursuant to the educational component of the SWM ordinance passed by then Councilor Jehanne Mutin in 2007 . Fines would also be considered against students throwing litter away irresponsibly . This Ramadhan is also a fitting time to prepare as salih and saliha to bear responsibllity for the trust/amanah given to natural habitat. Toxic chemicals emit from the trash thus the majority sector the youth should lead being the majority consumers of food and products. The103rd Brigade earlier joined a tree-planting organized by the National Power Corporation and City Solid Waste Managemeny Board at Bgy Caniogan Papandayan, Sacred Mountan pursuant to a standing Executive Order to enforce anti-illegal logging measures .
