CHIEF JUSTICE APPOINTS LEADERSHIP TRIBUNAL TO HEAR ALLEGATIONS AGAINST PRIME MINISTER. Chief Justice appoints leadership tribunal to enquire into the allegations of misconduct in office against Prime Minister Peter ONeill. The allegations of misconduct are that the Prime Minister failed to comply with administrative and financial processes including normal overseas borrowing process in the approval the K3 billion UBS Loan to purchase 10.1% equity (shares) in Oil Search. It was further alleged the purchasing of the shares was in the interest of Oil Search and not the interest of PNG. The tribunal will consist of three members 1) Right Hon. Sir Peter Blanchard KNZM PC (chairman) - former retired judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. 2) Hon John von Boussa AO QC (member) - former retired judge of Federal Court of Australia. 3) Hon. Salatiel Lenalia ML (member) - judge of National & Supreme Court of PNG. The date of tribunal will be 26th January 2015, 9:30am Court Room 1 National Court Waigani. The question of suspension of PM will be determined by the Tribunal in its discretion. Post Analysis tomorrow....
