*CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES* Ever feel the need to argue back with someone, just to get your point across. Did it solve anything? Well, if we know that a huge heated argument bears no fruit, then why do we always feel the need to argue back with someone, just to get your point across? Did it solve anything? Well, if we know that a huge heated argument bears no fruit, then why do we continue to respond in a negative way when people offend us? This week, lets decide to do something different-- lets walk in this love that we always talk about and quote! 1 Corinthians 14:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. So, if we know that love is patient, then we have to be patient with others. Love is not easily angered-- which means that when someone offends you, take a deep breath and a moment and tell God that love bears under everything. And THEN you respond gently. At times, we have to pull our emotions together and ask ourselves a few questions: 1. Why did I get so angry? 2. Do I fear something? Anger is typically rooted in fear of being taken advantage of or hurt. 3. Do I really trust God? If I do, then I understand that vengeance is Gods & He repays. So, take your focus off of the situation and spend time with God daily. Think on things that are true, honorable, pure and right (Phil 4:8) and decide to be loving and patient towards your family, co-workers, strangers and customer service. Prayer: Lord, show us where we are impatient in our heart. Teach us how to win people over with a quiet and gentle spirit versus an angry and loud spirit. Give us a desire to spend time with you daily and show us how to trust you again. -The Lindseys
