CHRISTMAS OUTREACH AT ST. SIMON’S As Christmas approaches, you will see two wreaths in the Narthex. One will be titled Community Outreach and the other Council of the North. Each will display the St. Simons Christmas Outreach projects supported by your donation. We are in our second year of preparing Christmas Meal Hampers under our Community Outreach program. We will be providing 40 Christmas Meal Hampers this year. With a donation of $40, one family will receive all the fixings for a Christmas meal including a gift card for a turkey. And Heartwarming Stories about some of the Council of the North ministries can be found at: anglican.ca/cn/stories-from-the-council-of-the-north/ There will be envelopes available for cheques or cash, with labels attached to identify the donor and the project, Red Envelopes – Community Outreach - Christmas Meal Hampers, Food Vouchers and Financial Support for gifts for those struggling at Christmas - Christmas baskets to those in our pastoral care - Home Suite Hope, an Oakville based organization that helps single parent families facing homelessness in Halton (homesuitehope.org/en/) Green Envelopes – Council of the North - whose purpose is to respond to Gods call to mission and ministry in the Northern regions of Canada (anglican.ca/cn/) Envelopes can be placed on the offertory plate on Sundays or handed to the church office. (Please make cheques payable to St. Simons Church) You will have the choice of directing your funds to either or both of these important ministries and we ask that you prayerfully commit to either cause. If you have any questions at all, please contact Bronwen Bruch or any of the Outreach Committee members.
