Many people do not realize how strong the effects of allergies are on brain chemistry. The hormone histamine tends to run extremely high in people who have an active allergy to which they are receiving constant exposure. High histamine levels have many different physical effects, but also have profound psychological effects. Among other things, high histamine levels can cause obsessive or compulsive behaviors, dark depression, inability to focus, libido excesses, hyperactivity, and irrational fears.
