CHRISTS PARABLE OF THE VINE AND ITS BRANCHES The parable of the - TopicsExpress

CHRISTS PARABLE OF THE VINE AND ITS BRANCHES The parable of the Vine and its branches, just like the parable of the sower, are in my view, two of the most revealing metaphors about true Christianity. The parable of the Vine captures everything about what Gods will for His people is, in such a wisdom which can only come from God. In this metaphor, we see the Fathers work, the work of Christ and the work of the saint. We see how God intends to mould us and what matters to God. We learn of how to abide in Christ and how to be cut off from Him. We learn justification, sanctification and glorification and we also see the manifestation of false and true holiness, true and false ministry. We understand what we need to do, so as to glorify God and please Him. We appreciate how God plans to care for us and more. It is the whole of Christianity in a simple metaphor. In short, it encapsulate the complete gospel of the kingdom of God. It is a parable which must be read over and again using different bible lexicons. It is preserving, sanctifying, guiding and inspiring wisdom worth gleaning from. Summarily, it shows us that God the Father is a farmer (Husbandman) who planted a Vine tree called Christ on earth. This means therefore that the Father is not a passive observer in the whole equation. He is ploughing, grooming and looking forward to a bountiful harvest. The seed that He used to plant this vine tree was obtained from the purest, sweetest and best species ever - Eternal life - Gods very own life-source. He nurtured the Christ vine tree until its branches began to shoot out and He was glad. Yet this is still not all because His endgame is to harvest fruit from the Vine and produce such sweet wine that He can drink to His satisfaction. As we proceed, we shall see that the fruit is still not the final objective, but the pleasure of God is the final objective for all worship, all ministry, all giving, all service every manifestation of Christ through our lives. Pray God to open your eyes to behold wondrous things out of this parable - things that will change you and make you fulfill the full potentials of His life in you.
