CITIBank rip off. When I Europe I use my credit union debit card for cash euros at ATMs. Essentially, the credit union does the exchange at the current published rate and then tacks on a $1 fee for the transaction. So for a €100 withdrawal from a Eurobank ATM my account is charged $133.54 + $1. But the first ATM I used this year was operated by CITIBank. CITIBank charged my account $146.36 for €100! So apparently CITIBank is charging around $0.13 per euro over and above the exchange rate just for using their machine. Goodbye CITIBank!
